Summary testament to his daughter Geraldine Chaplin Charlie Chaplin

Geraldine my daughter, I am far from you, but your face is never a moment away from my mind. But where are you? In Paris on the majestic theater ... I know this is that in the silence of the night, I heard your step. I heard your role in the theater, you appear as a princess held captive by the nation's rulers Tartar.

Geraldine, be your star player but if you hear the praise of the audience and you smell the intoxicating fragrance of flowers that are sent to you, watch out.

Sit down and read this letter ... I was the father. Now is your turn to perform and reach the peak of pride. Now is your turn to drift off into space with boisterous applause of the audience.

Fly to the sky but occasionally pijakkan feet on the earth and see people's lives. Life they show an empty stomach hunger when their legs tremble because of poverty. I used one of them.

Geraldine my daughter, you do not know me very well. On nights when I'm away from you a lot of stories to tell you but I never expressed sorrow and grief.

It's also an interesting story. The story of a hungry clown who sing and receive alms in the worst place in London.

This is my story. I have felt hungry. I feel the pain of poverty. What's worse, I have felt the pain and humiliation that holds the tramp clown ocean waves of pride in his heart.

I also feel that the charity coins urang pedestrian was not at all undermine his self-esteem. Yet I'm still alive.

Daughter Geraldine, a world in which you live is a world of art and music. The middle of the night when you're out of the theater, forget the rich devotees.

But the taxi driver to take you home, ask about the state of his wife. If he does not have money to buy clothes for their children, sisipkanlah money in his pocket surreptitiously.

Daughter Geraldine, occasionally take the bus and subway. Consider the public. Recognize the widows and orphans, and at least for one day say: "I am also part of them."

In essence, you really like them. Art before giving two wings to man to fly, he will break his legs first.

When you think you've got the upper hand, when it also leave the theater and go to the outskirts of Paris with the cab.

I'm familiar with the area. There you will see artists like you. They are acting more beautiful and more live than you.

The difference is not there you will find sparkling lights like in teatermu. Ketahuliah that there is always someone better than you acted.

Geraldine my daughter, I am sending you this check, spend of as you please. But when you want to spend two francs, think that the third franc is not yours.

It is owned by the poor who need it. If you so desire, you can find poor people very easily. If I had a lot to talk to you about money, it's because I know the power of 'demon child' in deceiving .....

Daughter Geraldine, there are still many things that I would tell you, but I'll tell you on another occasion.

And I end this letter,

"Be a man, and a sacred heart, hunger, receiving alms, and died in poverty, a thousand times easier than the humiliation and do not have feelings."

The will of a father to his daughter is really valuable, not in the form of property but a meaningful message is more precious than any treasure in the world.

A final message from his father who reminds her to always share and humble, because not everyone has a destiny as fortunate children.
